Practical, tailored lessons to help you improve, or a specific directing session to help you advance an audition piece, we offer whatever you need in the way of one-on-one support.
Facilitated by our resident tutor Jacob Ward, a working professional actor and director, these sessions will be designed around your request.
Jacob has experience of applying and being accepted into drama school, as well as extensive knowledge of auditioning in person and via self-tape. He can direct you piece and give you a range of ideas to help you bring it to life and find your way through any blocks. It can simply be a session of improvement, of bouncing about ideas, and having another actor in the room with which you can play opposite.
These sessions are not limited to one person, there can be a few of you or a group. Contact for further details and your request.
About us:
Jacob Ward is bringing together his fascination with acting, his twelve years experience as a professional actor and director, and his extensive research to facilitate these sessions. He studied at the Oxford School of Drama and has performed at theatres such as: Soho Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Hull Truck and Theatre@41.
Odyssey-Works is a new, York based venture looking to support and create live, performance-based events in the North. We do this through learning, opportunity to practice, ideation, experimentation, and collaboration. Past productions include: War of the Roses on location in York (York Creatives, Viridian FX).
